Name: George Weasley
Canon: Harry Potter
Timeline: Deathly Hallows; Moments before the battle at Hogwarts begins.
Personality:
George Weasley, if described by someone in one word, would more than likely be called a 'joker' or 'mischievous'. George spent most of his time through the years causing mischief and playing jokes on others; caused trouble or at least livening up wherever he went off. He is also a good inventor, creating many joke items and even things that weren't for mischief such as types of charms. However, he did not do much of this alone. George was always with his brother Fred, and it was very rare for one to be without the other. Even if they were not next to each other they weren't very far from one another. If they weren't it was even a rarer occurrence. Most of his personality shines whenever his brother is around, as the two of them bounce off each other. Fred, with no doubt, is the person that George is closest to.
The two of them did almost everything together. When George was with Fred when would do all kind of mischief and joke around both with each other as well as the people around him. When together Fred and George would even joke around during the darkest of times, almost being the 'light to the darkness'. Mostly, they would do it to lighten the mood and lift the tension for those around them. Or, if needed, for themselves. There were few times when the situations was serious enough they neither George nor his brother would crack a joke, but if there was ever a time when they could try to lighten up the mood, they would. They've done this multiple times, from trying to comfort Harry after he fainted from a dementor by telling them about Malfoy, to simply making jokes just moments after George's ear was cursed off.
George was someone that looks at life as something that one should enjoy. Both him and his brother Fred were the risk-takers in the family, and often had goals and ideas that were far different than the rest of his family. For example, things that are important to many, such as academics and being the top of their class or the best they can be wasn't in George's interest. George was far from an idiot, but instead of studying and trying to become something such as a 'perfect' he worked towards his own goal. George also didn't want to do anything like what his father does. Instead he had a different goal in mind and that goal was none other than to open up and run a joke shop with his brother Fred, and invent many items for them to sell. On top of that, George was a good He had only received three O.W.Ls, likely so he can free up his schedule and focus on making products and selling them. Eventually being the owner of a joke shop, George is not only a good inventor, but he is also a good salesman. Soon after the opening of the Joke Shop it was successful despite everything else closing down. And even before George and his brother were able to start the joke shop they were already shipping things out to people who have ordered from that. This also happened when they were in hiding.
Between the two of them, George was the quieter and gentler twin. His pranks and remarks weren't as harsh as his brothers, and rather than taking the lead role in him and his brother's mischievous act he would be the follower. George has more morals then his brother, and would sometimes become the voice of reason between them. If his brother suggests something that is over the top he will be against them, such as blackmailing someone from a Quidditch team. Most of his jokes were well brought by everyone around him except one of his brothers, Percy, and his mother; both considered his and Fred's jokes immature. He enjoyed poking fun at Percy, but he was lighthearted about it and usually only hurt his pride. He also particularly enjoyed poking fun at his younger brother, Ron.
While George makes jokes on others with Fred, it doesn't pass him to make jokes about himself as well. Just moments after his ear was cursed off he poked fun at his own injury. On top of that, he was quick to recover from the blast, as he continued to make jokes about his ear with his brother Fred and just moments after the blast, he was laughing with his brother as if nothing had ever happened. He also tested many of the products that he had created on himself.
Although George is carefree and always seems ready to jump at a moment to crack a joke or a pun it is not always the case. There are things that could make him irritated, such as a Quidditch practice in heavy weather, to something really bad like someone making fun of his family. George cares a lot about his family and protects them. He absolutely hates it when someone talks bad about his family or his friends. Depending on the severity of the ridicule George can go from glaring at the one who is talking about them to needing to be held back before physically hurting them as a retort. He's also protective of part of his family in a different way as well. Specifically his sister, Ginny. When the discussion of her getting a boyfriend was brought up George pursued the topic for knowledge and answers with his brother, coming back to it even when Ginny was trying to change the subject. Ginny iso a member of his family that he was particularly close with (aside from Fred), as in some ways was similar to him. His protectiveness extends to friends as well, such as Harry and Hermione.
While he is more docile then his brother and does not need to be as physically held back as him, if given the chance he will pursue the idea if it is to protect his family. Those two talk bad about his family are also likely to become someone who he will not hesitate to do something terrible too. Again, while not as bad as his brother when it comes to people he dislikes he is likely to also show being vindictive and will show no qualms in doing something to them that is beyond what is usually their measures. It was both him and Fred who pushed one of Umbridge's helped into the Vanishing Cabinet after he tried to rid them of points.
Even though George cares for his family and friends and protects them, there never seemed a time when he would actually sit down and try to help them with any deep problems that they might have. While he would try and perk Harry up with a story about Malfoy, or play around with the idea of Harry being the Syltherin's heir that seems to be the farther that he will go. Another thing that he would do though he try and pry information out of Ginny about any questionable relationships, such as when she was in a relationship with one Dean Thomas.
When George is not with Fred he can be seen in a bit of a different light. While he is likely to joke around, what matters is the atmosphere. If it is a normal atmosphere and there is nothing serious going on or something that seems wrong, then he'll go on with his more docile manner of joking around. However, unlike when he is with his brother he is more likely to be serious during times when it is important to do so than to try and lighten things up. Unless it seems as if it is needed. In general, he will not be as carefree as he usually is. However, since George is rarely seen without his brother in turn it is not often when he behaves in this manner.
Overall, George is a risk-taker, prankster, and overall someone who simply wished to take a different path than the rest of his family. He protects and cares deeply for his family, but most of all his twin brother Fred Weasley. He rarely was without his twin brother, and in the event that he was not he had lost his ear.
